About teeFinder

teeFinder watches the public booking pages of 217 golf clubs and emails you when a tee time you want appears. Searching needs no account.

Why it exists

Most clubs give members first call on the sheet and release whatever is left to the public at short notice. So the tee time you want usually isn’t there when you look — it appears, briefly, at some point you weren’t watching. That’s the whole problem this solves: an alert checks continuously so you don’t have to.

What we store about you

Only what the features need. If you have an account, that is:

• Your name and email address.
• Your password, as a bcrypt hash — we cannot read it, and neither can anyone who steals the database.
• Your alerts: which clubs, days, times, date range, number of spots, and whether you want full rounds only.
• Your search defaults: home suburb and its coordinates, search radius, and any clubs you’ve chosen to hide.
• Which tee times we have already emailed you, so the same one isn’t sent twice. These records are deleted once the date has passed.

Your home suburb is matched against a list of place names bundled with the app. It is never sent to a mapping service or anyone else.

What we don’t do

• No analytics and no tracking. These pages load nothing from any other company — no scripts, no fonts, no images, no ad network. There is one cookie, it holds your signed-in session, and that is all it does.
• No selling or sharing. Your address is not passed to clubs, booking platforms, advertisers, or anyone else.
• No marketing email. The only email we send is the alerts you asked for, plus the occasional account email you triggered yourself — a password reset, for instance.

One unavoidable third party: whoever delivers our email sees your address, because that is what delivering email means.

Stopping the email, and deleting your account

Every alert email carries an unsubscribe link, and it works without logging in. You can also turn alert emails off from Personal preferences; your alerts are kept, so turning them back on restores exactly what was there.

To have your account and everything above deleted, email [email protected] from the address you signed up with. There is no self-service delete button yet — this is an early build with a handful of invited users, so the honest answer is that a person does it by hand.

If you run a golf club or a booking platform

You may have found this page from our User-Agent in your access log. That link is there on purpose — we would rather you could contact us than have to block us.

• We request the same public guest booking pages a visitor sees. We do not log in, we hold no credentials, and we do not touch members’ areas or make bookings.
• We fetch at most two requests per second to any one domain, however many clubs on it we track, and typically far fewer.
• We identify ourselves honestly rather than imitating a browser, which is why you can see us at all.
• We send visitors to your booking page to book. We take no commission and we are not a reseller.

If the timing or the rate is a problem, or you would like us to stop entirely, email [email protected] and we will change it. You will not need to chase us.

Where the data comes from

Tee times, prices and availability belong to the clubs and their booking platforms, and are shown as published — they can change or sell out between our last check and your click, so the club’s own page is always the authority. Place names come from GeoNames, used under CC BY 4.0.
